Message Description:
The Passenger Door Exterior Emergency Light is not illuminating.

- Light Assembly
- Passenger Door Emergency Light (DS25)
- Emergency Lighting Power Supply (ELPS) 1 (A159)
- Emergency Lighting Power Supply (ELPS) Battery
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL LIGHTING FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES. CONTINUED OPERATION WILL DECREASE THE CHARGE OF THE BATTERIES OF THE EMERGENCY LIGHTING POWER-SUPPLIES.
- Is there more than one light not illuminating?
- If NO, go to step 5.
- If YES, the ELPS 1 battery may be discharged. Perform AMM TASK 33-51-09-720-801 and continue with next step.
- Does the light illuminate?
- If YES, do close out.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Does ELPS 1 hold its charge?
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Check the ELPS status in CAIMS, using the troubleshooting steps contained in EMER LIGHTS OFF or EMER LIGHTS ON CAS message tasks.
- Check if only the passenger door Emergency light does not illuminate, inspect the Emergency light bulb. Is the Light bulb in good working condition?
- If NO, replace the bulb and do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- In the flight compartment, on the PASS SIGNS/EMER LIGHTS control panel (AP13), set the EMER LIGHTS switch to ON.
- Perform a voltage check as follows:
EXT Emer light Expected Result DS25-1 6 VDC - If there is 6 VDC, replace the light assembly and do close out.
- If there is no 6 VDC, continue with next step.
- In the flight compartment, on the PASS SIGNS/EMER LIGHTS control panel (AP13), set the EMER LIGHTS switch to OFF.
- Perform a continuity check between ELPS 1 and the Emergency light as follows:
From To Result A159P1-G DS25-1 A159P1-D Ground DS25-2 Ground - If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Replace ELPS 1.
- Do close out.
