Message Description:

The Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor DPMS 7 has detected a current imbalance between the 2 feeders.

A failure with the Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor DPMS 7 has been detected by the Aux DCPC.

Possible Causes:

  • Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor (DPMS7)
  • Auxiliary Power Unit Power Feeders
  • Auxiliary Power Center (Aux DCPC) (A196)
  • Left DC Power Center (LDCPC) (A35)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect the Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor DPMS7 connector. Do visual inspection of the connector and associated wiring for any loose pins and/or damaged wire.

    1. If inspection is satisfying, continue with next step.
    2. If inspection is not satisfying, go to step 4.

  2. Swap the Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor DPMS7 with Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor DPMS8. Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace the defective Auxiliary Power Unit Sensor.

  3. Do visual inspection and a wiring check (with a high precision milli-ohm meter) of the following feeder cables:

    From To Results
Aux DCPC STUD T33 L DCPC STUD T83
Aux DCPC STUD T35 L DCPC STUD T85

    1. If the results of the inspection and the wiring check are satisfying, go to next step.
    2. If the results of the inspection and the wiring check are not satisfying, repair/replace defective wiring.
NOTE: Due to the high precision of the generator sensor (100mA), to confirm the integrity of a power feeder, it is suggested to connect an extra feeder cable to bypass the suspected one.

  4. Replace the Aux DCPC (A196). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, go to step 6.

  5. Replace the L DCPC (A35).
  6. Do close out.
