Message Overview:

Fault Message:

ASCA FAILED (LEVEL A) / POWER UP

Fault Code:

2463001DCP

Associated CAS:

ELEC SYS FAIL
(Caution)

Reporting LRU: DC Power Center (DCPC)
System Description: 24-60-00
Schematic Diagram: 24-61-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 24-61-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

  • The DC Power Center (DCPC) Primary Logic Cards (PLCs) detect a discrepancy between the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Start Contactor Assembly (ASCA) Solid State Power Controller (SSPC) 5 status and its commanded state
  • The ASCA SSPC 5 status and its commanded state are in agreement (both indicate off state) but voltage is still present on the SSPC 5 output

Possible Causes:

  • Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Start Contactor Assembly (ASCA) (A48)
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) (A63)
  • Circuit Breaker (CB-D2)
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Primary Logic Card (PLC) 1
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Primary Logic Card (PLC) 2
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Primary Logic Card (PLC) 3
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Diode (D5)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

Before performing any action, do a complete aircraft power OFF

  • AC power OFF (EXT power cord disconnected)
  • Battery Master Switch (BMS) OFF

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Set battery master switch (BMS) to ON. (EXT power cord disconnected).
  2. Get access to the Signboard menu and check DCPC IN label 360. (Only bit in gray need to be look at).
    For DCPC IN label 360.

    1. If bit 24 is set to 0, go to step 11.
    2. If bit 24 is set to 1, continue with next step.

  3. Get access to the APU Battery and disconnect connector A89P2.
  4. Get access to the ASCA and disconnect connector A48P2.
  5. Make sure circuit breaker CB-D2 is set to 'IN' CCPB.
  6. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A48P2-S Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  7. Remove all 3 DCPC PLCs. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A48P2-B Ground
    A48P2-L Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Get access to the DCPC and disconnect connector A63P1.
  9. Perform a wiring check as follows:

    From To Result
    A48P2-B Ground
    A48P2-L Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  10. Replace the DCPC. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  11. Get access to the APU Battery and make sure connector A89P2 is disconnected.
  12. Apply AC electrical power to the aircraft.
  13. Perform a 28 VDC voltage check at ASCA connection E4.

    1. If voltage is not present, go to step 15.
    2. If voltage is present, continue with next step.

  14. Refer to SmartFix Plus CAIMS message 2460450DCP DCPC diode 5 for additional troubleshooting.
  15. Replace the ASCA.
  16. Do close out.
