RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Flight Control Unit (FCU) 1 does not receive the FLAP NOT ZERO signal from the Slat/Flap Control Unit 1 (SFCU 1).

Possible Causes:

  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Flight Control Unit (FCU) 1 (A65)
  • Associated Wiring

This fault may sometime be cleared by performing the flight control system reset procedure.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. If CAS message(s) or CAIMS fault(s) related to the Slat Control System is posted in addition to RUD LIMITER FAIL and SLAT/FLAP CTRL UNIT #1/WRG FAULT, troubleshoot the additional message(s) first.
  2. Swap SFCU 1 with SFCU 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between FCU 1 and SFCU 1 as follow:

    From To Result
    A124AP1-94 A65FP1-1

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace FCU 1 and reset FCUs latched faults.
  5. Do close out.
