RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Two Multi-Function Display (MFD) Controllers have faults at the same time and cannot control the MFDs.

Possible Causes:

  • Multi-Function Display (MFD) Controller 1 (A133)
  • Multi-Function Display (MFD) Controller 2 (A134)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Check CAS message on EICAS display.

    1. If MFD CTLR 1 FAIL (Amber) appear, continue with next step.
    2. If MFD CTLR 2 FAIL (Amber) appear, go to step 3.
    3. If both MFD CTLR 1 FAIL and MFD CTLR 2 FAIL appear, go to step 4.

  2. Troubleshooting the fault accordance with MFD CTLR 1 FAIL.

    1. If fault remains, replace MFD controller 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault gone, do close out.

  3. Troubleshooting the fault accordance with MFD CTLR 2 FAIL.

    1. If fault remains, replace MFD controller 2 and do close out.
    2. If fault gone, do close out.

  4. Troubleshooting the fault accordance with MFD CTLR 1 FAIL and MFD CTLR 2 FAIL. Repair as required.
  5. Do close out.
