Fault Description:

The Left Wing Anti-Ice Modulating and Shut-off Valve (WAIV) is not at the correct position to agree with Bleed Management Controller (BMC) command. Inhibited during Take-Off and Landing.

Possible Causes:

  • L Wing Anti-ice Valve (WAIV)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
  • Bleed Management Controller (BMC) 1 (A69)
  • Junction Box (JB3)
  • Junction Box JB3/PCB1
  • Relay (K10)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform wiring checks between L WAIV, DAU3, JB3 and BMC1.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  2. Swap DAU 3 with DAU 1.

    1. If system checks are good, replace DAU 3 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Swap BMC 1 with BAMC 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace BMC 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace L WAIV.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Replace JB3/PCB1/K10.
  6. Do close out.
