Message Description:

A Hydraulic Pressure indication of INVALID or INCORRECT shows on the HYDRAULIC synoptic page of the Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System (EICAS). These procedures apply to the Hydraulic System 1, Hydraulic System 2 and Hydraulic System 3 pressure indications. Differences are identified.

Possible Causes:

  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A17)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
  • Hydraulic System 1 Pressure Transducer (MT140)
  • Hydraulic System 2 Pressure Transducer (MT143)
  • Hydraulic System 3 Pressure Transducer (MT146)
  • Power source

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Display the HYDRAULIC synoptic page (HSP) on the EICAS and check if the hydraulic pressure indication is INVALID or INCORRECT.

    1. If the hydraulic pressure indication is INCORRECT (hydraulic pressure is at zero psi and stable with the system off), perform troubleshooting of observed fault HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS FAILURE and do close out.
    2. If hydraulic pressure indication not at zero or is unstable, perform troubleshooting of observed fault HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS FAILURE and do close out.
    3. If the hydraulic pressure indication is INVALID (amber-color dashes show in place of the pressure value), continue with the next step.

  2. Check if the INVALID transducer is Hydraulic System 1 Pressure Transducer, Hydraulic System 2 Pressure Transducer or Hydraulic System 3 Pressure Transducer.

    1. If Hydraulic System 2 Pressure Transducer is invalid, go to step 6.
    2. If Hydraulic System 3 Pressure Transducer is invalid, go to step 9.
    3. If Hydraulic System 1 Pressure Transducer is invalid, continue with the next step.

  3. Disconnect the connector MT140P1 from the Hydraulic System 1 Pressure Transducer. Perform the voltage check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT140P1-D Ground 28 ±2 VDC

    1. If there is 28 ±2 VDC, go to step 5.
    2. If there is no 28 ±2 VDC, continue with the next step.

  4. Disconnect the connector A15P2 from SPDA 3. Check if there is a short circuit to ground or an open circuit between Hydraulic System 1 Pressure Transducer connector (MT140P1) and SPDA 3 connector (A15P2) as follows:

    From To Result
    MT140P1-D A15P2-L

    1. If there is a short circuit to ground or an open circuit, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is no short circuit to ground or an open circuit, connect the disconnected connectors. Perform the troubleshooting for CAS Message BATT BUS FAIL and do close out.

  5. Disconnect the connector A17AP1 from DAU 1. Check if there is an open circuit or a short circuit to ground between Hydraulic System 1 Pressure Transducer connector (MT140P1) and DAU 1 connector (A17AP1) as follows:

    From To Result
    MT140P1-A A17AP1-B10
    MT140P1-B A17AP1-C10
    MT140P1-C Ground

    1. If there is an open circuit or a short circuit, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is no open circuit or a short circuit, connect the disconnected connectors. Perform the troubleshooting for observed fault HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS FAILURE and do close out.

  6. Disconnect the connector MT143P1 from the Hydraulic System 2 Pressure Transducer. Perform the voltage check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT143P1-D Ground 28 ±2 VDC

    1. If there is 28 ± 2 VDC, go to step 8.
    2. If there is no 28 ± 2 VDC, continue with next step.

  7. Disconnect the connector A14P3 from SPDA 2. Check if there is an open circuit or a short circuit to ground between Hydraulic System 2 Pressure Transducer connector (MT143P1) and SPDA 2 (A14P3) as follows:

    From To Result
    MT143P1-D A14P3-L

    1. If there is an open circuit or a short circuit, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is no open circuit or a short circuit, connect the disconnected connectors. Perform the troubleshooting for CAS Message BATT BUS FAIL and do close out.

  8. Disconnect the connector A18AP1 from DAU 2. Check if there is a short circuit to ground or an open circuit between Hydraulic System 2 Pressure Transducer connector (MT143P1) and DAU 2 connector (A18AP1) as follows:

    From To Result
    MT143P1-A A18AP1-B10
    MT143P1-B A18AP1-C10
    MT143P1-C Ground

    1. If there is a short circuit to ground or an open circuit, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is no short circuit to ground or an open circuit, connect the disconnected connectors. Perform the troubleshooting for observed fault HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS FAILURE and do close out.

  9. Disconnect connector MT146P1 from the Hydraulic System 3 Pressure Transducer. Perform voltage check as folows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT146P1-D Ground 28 ±2 VDC

    1. If there is 28 ±2 VDC, go to step 11.
    2. If there is no 28 ±2 VDC, go to the next step.

  10. Disconnect connector A15P1 from SPDA 3. Check if there is an open circuit or a short circuit to ground between Hydraulic System 3 Pressure Transducer connector (MT146P1) and SPDA connector (A15P1) as follows:

    From To Result
    MT146P1-D A15P1-H

    1. If there is an open circuit or a short circuit, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do the close out.
    2. If there is no open circuit or a short circuit, connect the disconnected connectors. Perform the troubleshooting for CAS Message BATT BUS FAIL and do close out.

  11. Disconnect the connector A30AP1 from DAU 3. Check if there is an open circuit or a short circuit to ground between Hydraulic System 3 Pressure Transducer connector (MT146P1) and DAU 3 connector (A30AP1) as follows:

    From To Result
    MT146P1-A A30AP1-B10
