Message Description:

The Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) does not receive input from the Right Wing Flap-Resolver or the input is not in the permitted range.

Possible Causes:

  • Right Flap Resolver (MT72)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the EMS CDU, select CTRL function and SLAT/FLAP RESET.
NOTE: Wait at least one minute after SFCU reset to allow self-test to run.
  2. Cycle the flaps from IN/0 degrees to OUT/30 degrees.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Swap SFCU 2 with SFCU 1.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 2 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Move the SFCL to a different detent.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
NOTE: SFCU 1 is the left side (channel 1) controller. SFCU 2 is the right side (channel 2) controller.

  5. Perform a resistance check from the applicable resolver channel SFCU rack connector through the Flap resolver as follows:

From the SFCU 1, (resolver channel 1):

    From To Expected Result Result
    A124AP1-81 A124AP1-82 140 to 220 ohms (Resolver Primary Coil R2-R1)
    A124AP1-87 A124AP1-88 13 to 24 ohms (Output Sine Coil ch.1)
    A124AP1-100 A124AP1-101 13 to 24 ohms (Output Cosine Coil ch.1)

From the SFCU 2, (resolver channel 2):

    From To Expected Result Result
    A95AP1-81 A95AP1-82 140 to 220 Ohms (Resolver Primary Coil R2-R1)
    A95AP1-87 A95AP1-88 13 to 24 Ohms (Output Sine Coil ch.1)
    A95AP1-100 A95AP1-101 13 to 24 ohms (Output Cosine Coil ch.1)

    1. If resistance is within range, go to step 7.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Perform wiring checks between the applicable SFCU rack connector and the Right Flap resolver connector.
From the SFCU 1 (resolver channel 1):

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT72-1 A124AP1-82 Continuity
    MT72-2 A124AP1-81 Continuity
    MT72-6 A124AP1-88 Continuity
    MT72-5 A124AP1-87 Continuity
    MT72-3 A124AP1-101 Continuity
    MT72-4 A124AP1-100 Continuity

From the SFCU 2, (resolver channel 2):

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT72-7 A95AP1-82 Continuity
    MT72-8 A95AP1-81 Continuity
    MT72-12 A95AP1-88 Continuity
    MT72-11 A95AP1-87 Continuity
    MT72-9 A95AP1-101 Continuity
    MT72-10 A95AP1-100 Continuity

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Replace Right wing Flap resolver.
  8. Do close out.
