Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Did the Spoilers deploy at the time of failure?

    1. If NO, go to step 6.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Access and disconnect FCU 2 Connector A66EP1 and Left Inboard GS Proximity Sensor Connector MT123P1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    MT123P1-A Ground
    MT123P1-B Ground
    MT123P1-A MT123P1-B

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    MT123P1-A A66EP1-7K
    MT123P1-B A66EP1-7J

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Swap FCU 2 with FCU 1. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, replace FCU 2 and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the Left Inboard GS Proximity Switch Sensor.
  6. Deploy the ground actuator by using the hydraulic lock override feature. Cycle the ground spoiler surface 3-4 times.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Replace Left Inboard Ground Spoiler Actuator.
NOTE: The FCU is able to differentiate between a defective selector valve and a defective actuator.
  8. Do close out.
