Troubleshooting Recommendations:

NOTE: This fault could be caused by a faulty Landing Gear Selector Valve 3. You can troubleshoot it using the GEAR DISAGREE procedure and not selecting any CAIMS message.

  1. Check CAIMS for the SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING (3250008DWY) message.

    1. If the message is shown, perform troubleshooting of SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING (3250008DWY).
    2. If the message is not shown, continue with next step.

  2. With no hydraulic pressure on the aircraft and the NLG doors open, manually close the NLG up-lock by hand.
  3. Select Hydraulic system 3 pumps 3A or 3B ON and check if the NLG Up-Lock opened.

    1. If the NLG Up-Lock did not open, troubleshoot the Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 using the GEAR DISAGREE procedure and not selecting any CAIMS message.
    2. If the NLG Up-Lock opened, continue with next step.

  4. Set the Hydraulic system switch 3A and 3B to ON.

    1. If the NOSE STEER FAIL (amber) message is not shown on EICAS, go to step 6.
    2. If the NOSE STEER FAIL (amber) message is shown on EICAS, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring check between SCU and Steering Pressure Switch 1 (S2P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, go to step 7.

  6. Set the NOSE STEER switch to ARMED.

    1. If the NOSE STEER FAIL (amber) message is not shown on EICAS, replace the NWS Solenoid Valve (L1).
    2. If the NOSE STEER FAIL (amber) message is shown on EICAS, replace the Steering Pressure Switch 1 (S2).

  7. Replace Steering Pressure Switch 1 (S2).
  8. Do close out.
