Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- On the EMS CDU, select CTRL function and SLAT/FLAP RESET.
NOTE: Wait at least one minute after SFCU reset to allow self-test to run. - Cycle the flaps from IN/0 degrees to OUT/30 degrees.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap SFCU 1 with SFCU 2.
- If the system checks are good, replace SFCU 1 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Move the SFCL to a different detent.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
NOTE: SFCU 1 is the left side (channel 1) controller. SFCU 2 is the right side (channel 2) controller.
- Perform a Slat/Flap Control Handle resistance check of the applicable SFCU.
SFCU 1:
Function From To Expected Result Result Excitation channel 1 A124AP1-28 A124AP1-27 29 to 41 ohms Excitation channel 2 A124AP1-41 A124AP1-40 29 to 41 ohms Pos. S2 channel 1 A124AP1-18 A124AP1-32 20 to 28 ohms Pos. S1 channel 1 A124AP1-19 A124AP1-32 20 to 28 ohms Pos. S2 channel 2 A124AP1-51 A124AP1-38 20 to 28 ohms Pos. S1 channel 2 A124AP1-52 A124AP1-38 20 to 28 ohms SFCU 2:
Function From To Expected Result Result Excitation channel 1 A95AP1-28 A95AP1-27 29 to 41 ohms Excitation channel 2 A95AP1-41 A95AP1-40 29 to 41 ohms Pos. S2 channel 1 A95AP1-18 A95AP1-32 20 to 28 ohms Pos. S1 channel 1 A95AP1-19 A95AP1-32 20 to 28 ohms Pos. S2 channel 2 A95AP1-51 A95AP1-38 20 to 28 ohms Pos. S1 channel 2 A95AP1-52 A95AP1-38 20 to 28 ohms - If resistance is within range, go to step 7.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between the applicable SFCU and the SFCH.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace SFCH.
NOTE: The connectors on the SFCH cannot be exchanged because they are keyed differently. - Do close out.
