Reporting LRU: Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU)
System Description: 27-52-00
Schematic Diagram: 27-50-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 27-50-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

This message shows when one of the conditions that follow occurs:

  • 270 VDC link internal to the Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) is out of normal limits for more than 0.08 seconds OR,
  • There is an internal failure of the Motor Regenerative Resistor Circuit

Possible Causes:

  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

If the SLAT FLAP PWR 1 thermal breaker is tripped on the CCBP, do not reset circuit breaker for troubleshooting. Make sure there is no short circuit, then replace SFCU 1.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Access CAIMS System diagnostic and unlatch the fault in the SFCU 1.

    1. SYSTEM DIAG
    2. 27-00 FLIGHT CONTROLS
    3. SLAT/FLAP CONTROL UNIT #1(2)
    4. LRU TEST
    5. CLEAR LATCHED FAULT - SFCU1
    6. Highlight "CLEAR LATCHED FAULTS" and "SELECT"

  2. On the EMS CDU, select CTRL function and SLAT/FLAP RESET.
NOTE: Wait at least one minute after SFCU reset to allow self-test to run.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Swap SFCU 1 with SFCU 2.
NOTE: If necessary, unlatch the fault in CAIMS and perform a SLAT/FLAP RESET after swapping the SFCUs.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Measure the AC voltage on the SFCU 1 and make sure the three phases are reading the same voltage.

    SFCU 1 Voltage
    A124BP1-6 115 VAC
    A124BP1-7 115 VAC
    A124BP1-8 115 VAC

    1. If voltages are the same, do close out.
    2. If voltages are different, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring checks between SFCU and CCBP. Repair as required.
  6. Do close out.
