Message Description:
Weather Radar Receiver/Transmitter Antenna (RTA) has detected an internal and external failure.
Possible Causes:
- SCAN Switch
- XMIT Switch
- Weather Radar Receiver/Transmitter and Antenna (RTA) (A125)
- Weather Radar Control Panel 1 (A122)
- Weather Radar Control Panel 2 (A92)
Troubleshooting Tips:
Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin:
- AW700-34-0166 - Update - Weather Radar Increased Ground Clutter During Flight
- AW700T-0116 - Weather Radar Forced Standby Over-Ride Operation
Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter:
- TNL A23-3944-005 - Primus 880, 660, 440 Weather Radar Fault Code 11, Magnetron Fault
The FAIL legend and fault codes show on the Multi-Function Display (MFD) status window only when the WXR system is in TST (Test) mode and an active fault has occurred.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Align INUs in ATTITUDE mode.
- Check on MFD to find WXR fault code during TST (weather test mode).

NOTE: Replace RTA only if it is post modification "P". See TNL A23-3933-005. - If the other fault codes are displayed,
- For fault code 13, perform the visual inspection of WXR R/T Antenna.
- For the fault code 14, perform the visual inspection of WXR R/T Antenna.
- For the fault code 20, perform the troubleshooting of 3440014WX.
- For the fault code 27, perform the troubleshooting of 3440018WX.
- For the fault code 30, perform the troubleshooting of 3440019WX.

- For the fault code 36, perform the troubleshooting of 3440023WX.
- For the fault code 37, perform the troubleshooting of 3440029WX.
NOTE: If there are more than one active fault in the weather system, each fault will come up momentarily until all of them are shown. There is a delay of up to 4 minutes for some faults to display. Therefore allow system in test mode for significant time to display all active faults.
- If there is no active fault, use CAIMS PMAT to monitor Stored Fault on Ground Fault for weather radar via System Diagnostic and troubleshoot RTA as required.
NOTE: Refer to AW 700-45-0002 for Stored Fault Capabilities.
- If the fault codes 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 10, 11, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 36, FAIL are displayed on MFD, replace the WXR Receiver/Transceiver and check for the other codes.
- Do close out.
