Fault Description:
There is a problem with the Ground Lift Dump Switch.
Possible Causes:
- Ground Lift Dumping (GLD) Switch
- Flight-Control Unit (FCU) 1 (A65)
- Flight-Control Unit (FCU) 2 (A66)
- Associated Wiring

The GLD switch can be tested in CAIMS:
- SYSTEM DIAG.
- 27-00 FLIGHT CONTROLS.
- FLIGHT CONTROL UNIT #1.
- LRU TEST.
- COCKPIT SWITCHES TEST [FCU 1].

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Perform the cockpit switch test on CAIMS.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
NOTE: If the fault is only reported by one FCU, perform troubleshooting on the related side.
- Perform wiring checks between GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel and Ground as follow:
From To Result AP23P1-7 Ground AP23P1-8 Ground AP23P1-9 Ground AP23P2-7 Ground AP23P2-8 Ground AP23P2-9 Ground - If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Perform open/shorted to ground checks at GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel (AP23) as follow:
GND Lift Dumping (GLD) Switch position AP23J1-5 AP23J2-5 AP23J1-11 AP23J2-11 AP23J1-12 AP23J2-12 ARM GND (J1-8) GND (J2-8) GND (J1-7) GND (J2-7) GND (J1-9) GND (J2-9) AUTO Open Open GND (J1-7) GND (J2-7) GND (J1-9) GND (J2-9) OFF Open Open Open Open Open Open - If ground checks are good, go to step 6.
- If ground checks are not good, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks of GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel (AP23) internal wiring as follow:
GND Lift Dumping (GLD) Switch position AP23J1-5 and AP23J1-8 AP23J2-5 and AP23J2-8 AP23J1-11 and AP23J1-7 AP23J2-11 and AP23J2-7 AP23J1-12 and AP23J1-9 AP23J2-12 and AP23J2-9 ARM Closed Closed Closed Closed Closed Closed AUTO Open Open Closed Closed Closed Closed OFF Open Open Open Open Open Open - If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace GND Lift Dumping (GLD) Switch.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between FCU 1/FCU 2 and GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace defective FCU and reset FCUs latched faults.
- Do close out.
